Korak Misra is an accomplished film editor and director with a diverse background in the Indian film industry. With a foundation in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University, where he earned both his B.A. and M.A., Misra has cultivated a deep understanding of narrative and storytelling. His career began as an apprentice on the Bengali film Aroni Takhon, where he contributed poetry for a character played by the legendary actor Soumitra Chatterjee. His work spans multiple roles, including associate director, editor, and scriptwriter, in both independent films and documentaries.
With a keen eye for detail, Misra has edited numerous independent films and documentaries, including Undivided Solitude, which garnered multiple awards. His experience spans directing commercials for major brands and working on innovative short films like The Ring, now streaming on ShortsTV. In 2022, Misra was honoured as one of the ’75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow’ by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at the International Film Festival of India, Goa.
