WHO AM I? Kurtis is a songwriter, composer, producer and mix engineer based in Dublin, Ireland. Kurtis has spent the past 10 years between Dublin, Los Angeles and Nashville, collaborating with writers and producers such as Noel Zancanella (OneRepublic, Adele, Taylor Swift), Mikky Ekko (Rihanna, Hailee Steinfeld, Vance Joy), Mike Daley (Lady Gaga, Rockie Fresh, NCT, EXO, Stray Kids) and Philip Magee (Kodaline, The Script). With a keen ear for what a song should be, through an extensive background as both a performer and a songwriter, Kurtis is uniquely equipped to understand the vision of an artist to bring out the best in the song as both a writer and producer. Recently, Kurtis has started taking on another passion of his; film scoring. This year saw the release of short film Runner (20min), the directorial debut of IFTA nominated actor, Jenn Murray (Brooklyn, Fantastic Beats & Where To Find Them, Malificent), which was scored, arranged and performed by Kurtis. The film has already been selected for multiple international film festivals. Kurtis is also the lead singer, songwriter and producer for Irish band, VNXI. After gaining traction at home, the band crossed the pond and delivered a showstopping performance at the 14th annual Oscar Wilde Awards , earning acclaim from The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard. Selling out shows back in Ireland, they continued to write and record, honing an identifiable and irresistible signature style meant to invoke sight just as much as sound. In the end, the group’s honesty will distinguish them for a long time to come. REVIEWS: "VNXI embody this uncompromising, undeniable, and unbreakable spirit. The Dublin quartet—Kurtis Wade Murphy [lead vocals, acoustic guitar], Noely Musgrave [bass, synth], Andy L'Estrange [lead guitar, keys], and Leo Cassandro [drums]—craft cinematic rock uplifted by pop ambition, soundtrack-worthy sonic architecture, and good old-fashioned hometown authenticity." - Rick Florino “We normally don’t make announcements this far in advance, but VNXI killed it last night, and I knew by the immediate reaction of the audience that they have to play the Oscar Wilde Awards.” - Trina Vargo, founder and president of the U.S.-Ireland Alliance speaking to Billboard "VNXI’s cinematic & panoramic amalgamation of weathered rock and rhapsodic pop is gritty sincere, bluesy soulful, and raw yet beautiful. Lions sends listeners on a spiraling ascent with its burst of sheer emotive power, an effect that brings to mind a heartrending combination of Bastille, Maverick Sabre, Hozier, and Kodaline. Despite its stadium ready potency," - I Heart Moosiq "Their songs have a maturity and depth that aren't often within the grasp of a band that is only starting to gain traction on the road to acclaim." - Indie Obsessive
