I have over 15 years of broadcast journalism, audio production and podcasting experience, adapting to work in different news environments and with rapidly evolving technology. I’m constantly meeting new people, getting to the heart of their stories and making complex issues easy to understand, whilst creating engaging and interesting content. I produce stories people talk about and care about. I’m known as someone with excellent editing skills and as a reliable member of staff who gets difficult jobs done, whilst enjoying the challenge of them at the same time, combined with a strong sense of work camaraderie and friendship.
In 2016 my partner and I returned to the UK from living in New Zealand and now live in the beautiful Welsh countryside. We now have two children and spend as much time as possible outdoors. I was a community councillor for five years, including a stint as the chair, and led a group of parents who managed (during Covid!) to raise enough money for a brand new play park. This was through a variety of avenues including securing grants as well as organising safe community events, and I was the driving force.

In this series, we explore the role of an NHS provider of scans and tests, to help put patients at ease. In each episode, different steps of the journey are examined and questioned so there’s so fear or concern about the processes involved. In a bid to keep no-shows down to minimum, the series thoughtfully investigates every step of the way.
As a producer, I edited the series, sat in on interviews, came up with music suggestions and mixed the episodes ready for broadcast. It can be found here:
In her third series, mum of two transgender women, Josephine Hughes, speaks to family members and loved ones of people who have come out as transgender. It’s filled with raw emotion and deep personal stories ranging from loss and grief to tearful and joyful love. It really shows the radiance of humanity.
You can find it here, along with the first two series:
Following on from Josephine’s first series, discussing how two of her children came out as trans, in this second series Josephine speaks to a number of trans people about their experiences, and the impact it’s had on their lives and the lives of those around them. This series is filled with love and fun, and was nominated twice at the International Women’s Podcast Awards this year.
You can find it here, along with the first and third series (which I also edited):
