A veteran rock -n- roll singer/songwriter, Lisa Hogan embarked on a career in instrumental music after earning an M.A. in Music Composition from the Aaron Copland School of Music at the City University of New York. Her work is considered eclectic; from pop, art songs, jazz to acoustic new-romantic instrumental music with some electroacoustic pieces. Her work has been performed in venues throughout the world. Her piano piece “Adagio” was recently selected by the pianist Charlotte Boquet for a concert Brussels, Belgium, called “Women of the World/in the Footsteps of Stravinsky.” During the pandemic 2020, she appeared in a documentary film “Artists During Covid” by Director/Producer Michael Johnson, and also wrote music for the Podcast “The Unresolved” by Michael Whalen. She has been selected numerous times by Vox Novus 60x60 International Concert series, with work performed at the Birmingham Alabama New Music Festival “Moonlight on the Mountain,” in 8/2014, the International Concert in Long Beach, California, as well as the International Concert Series in Kansas City. Dr. Mary Logon Hastings performed her song cycle of Sara Teasdale poems at the 10th Annual Festival of Women Composers at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Hogan participated in three NYC concerts produced by the Ear (a classical reboot) winning the grand prize for a piano piece. As a singer/performer, she has released 2 albums of original material.
