Liz Hinlein is a DGA director, creative director, and producer with a dynamic career spanning film, commercials, and immersive media. Her debut narrative feature, Other People’s Children, premiered at the Directors Guild of America and received critical acclaim from Variety. The film garnered the Panavision New Filmmakers Grant and is available on Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime.
Liz’s short films have been showcased at prestigious festivals including the Berlin Film Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, and Hamptons Film Festival. In the immersive space, her documentary VR experience, Attention MOVE: This is AMERICA, supported by the Venice Biennale, was featured at the New Images Festival and Breakthrough Fellowship and is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival 2025. Liz has made significant contributions in the VR/AR/AI sector, collaborating with The NFL, Walmart, Accenture, and Byton Auto, and winning Best Commercial/Branded Content at CES for her Accenture project.
As a director of commercials, branded content, and music videos, Liz has partnered with leading brands and artists including Castrol Oil, Dove, Maybelline, Publix, Revlon, A&E, Eva Longoria, Shonda Rhimes, and Mary J. Blige. Her achievements in television include being selected for the DGA Directors Mentorship Program, the Sony Diverse Directors Program, and the Viacom Diversity Initiative.
Liz holds a degree from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA in Cinematography from The American Film Institute. She served as the Creative Director of Film and Cinematography at the New York Film Academy, where she created The 20/20 Series, which amassed over 1.4 million followers.
