I have 30+ years’ graphic design experience. For the last 15 years I have also been involved with several UI/UX projects. I started out as an in-house graphic designer, moved to freelancing and eventually ran my own small business. As a freelancer I have worked in-house, in studios and remotely. I am happy working on my own or as a member of a team. For web / UI briefs I have worked in agile style teams using Kanban boards and short sprints. I am comfortable taking instruction and overseeing others. Through-out my career I have worked on a wide variety of briefs – brochures, price guides, technical documents, corporate ID, corporate reporting, POS, newsletters, stationary, packaging, advertising, exhibitions. I’m happy working within corporate guidelines, using templates or designing concepts from brief. I have also been involved with digital projects such as social media posts, e-shots, web banners, site design and UI design. I have a high level of proficiency in Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). I am familiar with MailChimp, Typeform and MS Office. More recently I have gained experience with Figma. I am comfortable writing HTML mark-up, CSS and simple JavaScripts. I have a good understanding of object-oriented programming (classes/methods /variables/objects) and databases. I’m happy liaising with clients (their stakeholders), suppliers, developers and other freelancers. I have run a variety projects, sourced suppliers, overseen print and signage installation, time-tabled multiple print briefs to run concurrently and coordinated site builds. For web briefs I have helped clients determine their initial requirement / scope, designed the UI and overseen development, testing and client feedback.
