Michael Choi (Wonyoung Choi) is a Korean-American composer known for his versatile and impactful music across film, animation, games, and new media. With expertise in composition, arrangement, orchestration, and audio design, he brings creativity and technical precision to every project. Michael earned a Master’s degree in Film, Television, and Video Game Music from Berklee College of Music’s Valencia campus and studied Fine Arts and Film at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
He got his start in Los Angeles, working with established composers and gaining hands-on experience in studio operations. Michael sharpened his skills further through top-tier workshops like the Hollywood Music Workshop, learning from some of the industry’s best mentors.
With over 25 film and media credits, Michael has worked on projects like Fallen, A.I. Her, and Boy in the Pool. He’s collaborated with talented artists, including violinist Danny Koo and YouTube pianist Nahre Sol. Highlights of his career include working as an assistant composer on Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons and writing Korean cues for PBS’s Sesame Street.
As the founder of Sorina Studio, Michael produces music, leads workshops, and develops virtual instruments. With over 50 awards and nominations, his storytelling through music continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
