Megan was born and raised in Arkansas. Her maternal grandmother was a painter and helped cultivate her creativity. Megan spent her childhood watching her dad build hot rods and race cars in his garage. She especially loved watching the hand lettering artists her dad would hire to paint words and graphics on his cars. This inspired Megan to learn more about typography and pursue a career in Graphic Design. In 2010, she earned her BFA from Brigham Young University. Megan has been a freelancer for the past 10 years and her love of research and problem solving inspired her to make a career pivot to UX Design. When she's not working on projects, Megan loves going to the beach with her 3 kids, watching horror movies, and attending drag performances.

    uniE621 MWEG Tote Bag

    uniE621 MWEG Motto Shirt
I was Creative Director for the nonprofit organization Mormon Women for Ethical Government. During my time with the organization, I designed several t-shirts for fundraisers, including this one. graphicdesigner designer tshirt
    uniE621 Solar Eclipse 2024 Poster
My friend is on the board of the Northwest Arkansas Space & Science Center. The organization is having a viewing party for the 2024 total eclipse and my friend asked me to design a poster to be sold at the event. The zero in 2024 represents the eclipse and the design is inspired by retro-futuristic posters from the 1950s. graphicdesigner poster solareclipse2024

uniE621 Our Strange Skies Podcast Cover Art
Our Strange Skies is a podcast about ufology hosted by Rob Kristoffersen. Rob wanted new album art for his podcast & wanted an illustration of himself running from an alien in the style of the cover art for the magazine Flying Saucer Review. I sketched some possible scenes in the same illustration style & this is the one he picked. I drew the initials OSS to match the typography of the magazine’s masthead & used blue like the color of the sky. graphicdesigner podcast coverart
    uniE621 Jennifer Bate CD Packaging
Some of my favorite projects to work on are those in which I get to collaborate with other creative individuals. Jennifer Bate is a professional singer whose debut album Must Be Love is a collection of musical theater classics. For the album’s cover & disc visuals, Jennifer wanted a very chic, minimalist design that would complement the stunning photography she provided. graphicdesigner packaging cd
    uniE621 Amnesty International Ad Campaign
I took an advertising design class in college & I worked on this project with an advertising major. We were asked to create a three spread ad campaign for an organization, product, or business. My partner & I both wanted to do ads for a non-profit organization. We were both passionate about the work of Amnesty International and chose to do a campaign for them. At the time Amnesty International was campaigning to have Guantanamo Bay shut down. My partner was a very talented copywriter & together we came up with the idea of featuring detainee profiles in a way that highlighted their dehumanizing experiences while in the facility. My project partner wrote the ad copy based on real detainee experiences. I found stock photography of Middle Eastern men and used Photoshop to turn the color photos into high contrast black and white images. I closely cropped the photos to give the sense the person is confined to the page. My choice of typography for the headline is a gritty, stencil typeface that evokes a sense of impersonality, while the blood red background is alarming & difficult to ignore. graphicdesigner advertising
uniE621 Doctor Who Screen Print Poster
I graduated from Brigham Young University & in 2014 I was invited to participate in an exhibit of alumni artwork. I was into screen printing & Doctor Who at the time & I designed & printed this hand drawn poster especially for the art exhibit. graphicdesigner poster screenprinting
    uniE621 Hear Him Book Cover
I met Lisa Halverson through my volunteer work with Mormon Women for Ethical Government (MWEG). When she & her husband Taylor decided to publish a new book, they asked me to design the cover. They had already picked a typeface for the main title of the book, so I designed the visuals to work with it. The bright yellow on the dark background represents enlightenment & the sun and its rays are historically common symbols of divinity. bookcover graphicdesigner
    uniE621 Missionary Book Cover
When Robert Y. Cornilles approached me about designing a cover for his new book about Mormon missionary work, he wanted the cover to have a professional feel & to be a reference to the parable of the wheat & the tares, as told by Jesus in the New Testament. I chose a conservative serif font, ModernoFB, for all of the cover text. I found a stock photo of wheat on Unsplash and worked with it in Photoshop to wash out the blue sky & create enough white space & contrast for the title of the book. bookcover graphicdesigner
    uniE621 Lured Poster
My cousin asked me to design a poster featuring one of her favorite quotes. She loves to travel & wanted it to look like a vintage travel poster. I found stock photos on Unsplash & combined them to create a monochromatice scene of a plane flying over the desert. graphicdesigner poster
