From September 2023 to November 2023, in Civitanova Marche, Italy, the exhibition of the most significant couple in Italian graphic design, Lica and Albe Steiner, took place simultaneously at the MAGMA Museum and at the San Francesco multimedia space. The two former partisans made history in the Italian graphic design.
The exhibition displayed the works and graphic pieces of Licalbe Steiner, which left a mark on Italy in the 1950s and 1960s, followed by those of the Origoni Steiner Studio (the descendants of the couple who to this day follow their path, professionally and politically) thus demonstrating "a commitment that continues," as the name of the exhibition.
The catalogue contains a significant portion of the posters displayed at the exhibition, starting with those of Licalbe Steiner and leading up to the contemporary posters – the result of the work by the Origoni Steiner Studio. The posters are preceded by an introduction by Enrico Lattanzi, the director of the MAGMA Museum, an introduction by Anna Steiner, the daughter of the couple, and an old friendly contribution to the couple's work by Italo Calvino, a famous Italian author. The following is a series of photographs of the exhibition and numerous archival materials displayed, partly documenting the biography of Lica and Albe Steiner.
