Oriana Jemide was born in 1996, London, UK, studied BA in Fine Arts at London Metropolitan University graduating with First Class Honours in 2019. Her interdisciplinary practice combines textiles and painting to explore cultural identity in relation to space. Seeing the world through nature and material, she explores human emotions, relationships and culture in a manner that lives beyond the physical body. Her journey into creativity began being raised in Lagos, Nigeria by creative parents, a cake decorator (father) and screenwriter/poet (mother) in whom she gleaned from which first led to a degree in Fashion Design informing her love for fabric and textiles. A range of creative experiences with a curiosity in human psychology and wellbeing, Oriana’s practice seeks to be a tool in which audiences can tangibly experience healing. Working colour, shapes, forms and fabric into each other to convey moods that live within each individual whilst capturing universal concepts.…
