I'm a freelancer who specializes in writing from Denver, CO. Hello! my name is Payton, I would consider myself a diligent and passionate early-career journalist with two years of digital journalism experience. I have five online articles and two online magazines published, with four years of professional writing experience. The reason I began working in journalism is because I have a passion for truth, and within the last decade I have noticed a steep decline in honestly and truth within our media. In all, my goal is to be one of the people to change that. You can find my portfolio here: _Website not available. uniE621 Artist Insider: Annual Mask Exhibit (2023)
Beginning in fall of 2023, I worked with the Museum of Art Fort Collins in coordinating their Annual Mask Exhibit for the Spring. Each year the museum has a sign-up for local artists where they are given a mask to design in 8 months. I was tasked with interviewing these artists and capturing their stories illustrated with their work. All together, I completed two full magazines with original writing pieces, photography, and designs made with Adobe. After viewing one of my magazines on the Northern Colorado local, Lorri Accott, she stated, "Payton, I am blown away by your story on me. So impressed. I have had a lot of articles written about me over the years. It’s always a bit of an emotional challenge to open myself up to allow someone a close up view and accepting that they will write whatever they do. It’s an exercise in trust: Trust in myself that I’m not a complete fool (although we all feel that way at times), trust in the photographer/writer that they will see me and have the skill to help others do the same, and trust that even if I don’t like the outcome, it’s all ok. After seeing what you have created, I am deeply touched and appreciative. I feel seen and understood. The photographs were artistic, interesting and varied, and your writing was engaging and authentic. Thanks for sharing your perspective so beautifully. Warmly, Lorri" My goal is to give people a platform for their stories, without judgment or bias. designer branding graphicdesigner photo logo
