Hello, I’m Pedro, a classical composer, pianist, and visual artist from Brazil. My music has already been played by live orchestras and even featured in magazines. In this field I carry a vast and rich portfolio available on many streaming platforms. Yet, when I’m not making music, I love to draw, paint, and animate. Moreover, I’m really into graphic design and illustration, so I’m now offering my work in those areas too! I have a lot of expertise in what I do, fruit of a whole life of development - check it out! My Music Background: Music has been my passion since childhood—I started playing piano at 7 and composing at 13. I studied at EMESP - Tom Jobim, one of South America's leading conservatories, before earning my Music degree from Royal Holloway, University of London. My portfolio includes solo piano pieces, orchestral works, and soundtracks for award-winning short films. In 2024, my Symphonic Poem, Op. 6 - Hannibal & His Elephants Crossing the Alps was performed by the Filarmonic Orchestra of Santo Amaro (OFISA) and highlighted in Esmeril magazine. Additionally, I’ve had the honor of engraving scores for internationally renowned artists like Lang Lang. I trained under Cuban artist Alexis Iglesias, mastering traditional techniques such as charcoal, pastel, and oil painting. As a designer, I’ve created album covers for my own work and artists like Kharesma Ravichandran (Christmas Alone). My exploration into animation includes the short film Le Peintre (2023), inspired by a piano piece I play (by Prokofiev), and an animated loop for Lo-Fi artist Voyäge. uniE613 Phosphenes for Piano, Opus 3 | Opus 7
Here are my scores for Opus 3, which I engraved myself, accompanied by my own performance. In this set of pieces, I’ve tried to bring a uniquely modern theatricality, emotional depth, and a wide range of colours to the black-and-white piano keys. From the Opus 3 to the Opus 7 there are 5 years of musical and pianistic development. The covers for each piece were also made by me on photoshop, they stand as a little showcase of my work in design and visual sensibility. Each cover try to express a little of what I intended in the music whilst leaving a lot to be interpreted by the ears and the eyes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifibmcaq5Z8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5XxMkwjCL8 During university, I teamed up with a group of film students to create a music video for Op. 3 No. 2. We collaborated on the plot, and I took charge of storyboarding it. The result is a nostalgic and emotionally rich film that I’m really proud of. uniE613 Soundtrack for Under Streetlight & Music Loop Series No.1 | Late Night Ride
In 2019, at 21 years old, I scored my first short film, Under Streetlight, by Chinese director Xion-Li. The film was an earlier project she had created at just 16, and four years later, I had the opportunity to bring it to life with an original score. The music leans heavily on simple, minimalist piano melodies, which are quite different from my current style, now richer, more colorful, and complex. Still, the score fits the film perfectly—its apparent simplicity carries a deep emotional weight, mirroring the layers of the story and the characters themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OLZvgzqdaA&t=550s Later, inspired by my work with the LoFi artist Voyäge, I created an animated loop to accompany this soundtrack. While the loop isn’t directly related to the film’s theme, it’s designed as a simple study playlist. The visuals, however, capture the solitary and introspective mood of the melodies, creating a fitting atmosphere for reflection and focus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIEtLq1TYaM&t=962s
uniE613 Animation Loop for Lo-Fi artist Voyäge (lofi study vol. 1)
This is a little loop I made for Lo-fi artist Voyäge, in an Anime-inspired style. The style and the elements were part of his request, these loop much more often. Still, I added birds, boats, and clouds in the distance that move in a far slower pace, adding some complexity to the scene. To guarantee an efficient workflow, I showed Voyäge extensive sketches of all elements before getting to finally animate them, the result was very satisfying for the both of us! I hope you like it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fMP_je0urY&t=522s
uniE613 Symphonic Poem, Op.6 - Live Performance & Magazine Article
On September 29, 2024, My piece, Hannibal & his Elephants Crossing the Alps was premiered by the Orquestra Filarmônica de Santo Amaro (OFISA) under the direction of Silvia Luisada at the Teatro Paulo Eiró in São Paulo, Brazil. I prepared more than 80 pages of music to give the conductor and the musicians for this three-minutes piece. Besides, I attended all rehearsals and polished the performance with the orchestra. The video for the concert is in the OFISA's YouTube channel, the op.6 was the Grand finale of the programme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nA4ogqutpNk&t=4749s The piece received so much praise that an influential Brazilian journalist and philosopher, who attended the concert, wrote a beautiful article about the concert and my musical trajectory. The article was published in the October issue of the Brazilian digital magazine "Esmeril", it reads in the cover: "The Genesis of a Composer, the music of Pedro H. Valladao". https://revistaesmeril.com.br/a-genese-de-um-compositor/
uniE613 Le Peintre (The Painter) | 2D Animated Short Film
"Le Peintre" ("The Painter") is my first-ever animated production and my debut work in animation under Crayon d’Or (my own project of an animation studio). In this animated film, I drew inspiration from Sergei Prokofiev's Visions Fugitives, Op. 22 No. 11 to tell the story of a painter who seems to float with excitement as he paints. By blending music and animation, I aimed to provide a unique and entertaining perspective on the emotional and psychological aspects of an artist's creative process. In many ways, the movie serves as an allegory for the creative journey itself, capturing the ups and downs, as well as the sense of progress, that define an artist's work.
