I was working as a web developer for the hospital in my hometown back in 1998 when I won a competition on Virgin Radio (to see Genesis at Earls Court) and it included train fare to London. I had applied for a job in Hertfordshire for a Junior Computer Programmer at the same time so used my trip to London to go to the interview. I got the job and moved down 1 month later. I’ve been developing websites ever since. It’s what I am good at and I love doing it (over the years I have done countless free websites for friends and for charities which you only do if you love doing it!). 1998 : Started designing websites, got a job as a Junior Computer Programmer and started taking on web design/hosting customers 2002 : I had enough customers to start my own web development business 2004 : I developed a website for a startup ecommerce company (including CMS and stock management system) which later had a T/O of £25million on my Classic ASP coded website/CMS! 2011 : I began working as a C#.Net developer 2014 : I taught myself Umbraco as I thought it was an excellent platform for customers to edit their own websites. 2015: I started my first Umbraco/C# contract and continued contracting for 5 years for various digital/creative agencies across London 2020: Temporarily returning to permanent employment as a Full Stack C# Web Developer using both Umbraco 7/8/cloud and Sharepoint Online 2022: I returned to the exciting world of contracting as a C# developer - initially with Kentico and .Net Core 2024: In order to support my volunteer work, I am currently supporting clients on a freelance/part time basis and winning new business.
