Person Specification
An enthusiastic, creative and hardworking individual that is able to undertake several projects at once and achieve excellent results. This contract will include working with existing themes on 2-3 WordPress websites. We are not looking to redesign or change to a new theme.

We are looking for a developer who has worked with HTML websites, WordPress and WooCommerce predominantly. Ideally, we would like someone who is familiar with using WordPress plugins and adapting WordPress functionality.

Please note: This post is contract-based, but ideal for Freelancers.

The work schedule has some flexibility and candidates can work from home, but the role will require working in the office in North Shields for at least some of the time. Please bear this in mind when applying.

Salary

• Dependent upon experience and ability to showcase previous work.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide web development for 2-3 websites (two live and one being developed).
• Develop bespoke functions/forms/pages with the existing theme for an education website, built with WordPress and WooCommerce
• This includes making a custom post type for supply teaching.
• A registration form for supply teachers.
• An electronic time sheet to enable supply candidates to record hours worked and for us to check with schools.
• A text/email alerts to be sent when a new supply job has been listed on the website and/or a button for schools to press when a school needs staff quickly.
• A candidate portal side adaptation to apply/accept the supply job with the current theme’s existing candidate dashboard.

Additionally, we also want to offer teaching candidates the ability to “quick apply” to jobs.

• Integrate a temporary solution to enable us to offer Ship2Shop via our current DPD UK shipping plugin on two eCommerce sites. (We have access to the API to see the coding)
• Work with the marketing teams to ensure all websites are UX friendly, Optimised for SEO, include Schema Mark-Up and running efficiently.
• Make regular website updates as needed.
• Communicate and articulate technical solutions in simple language and be able to share and build knowledge with the sales & marketing team.

Job Requirements
Our Ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar/equivalent
• Worked with WordPress, WooCommerce and associated Plugins
• Web development-2+ years
• A portfolio or the ability to produce examples of previous work

Skills Required

• Wordpess, WooCommerce.
• PHP, Redis, MySQL ,HTML5 ,CSS ,JavaScript, Jquery, Ajax
• E-Commerce, cross-browser compatibility, responsive web user interface design, security principles.
• Experience with integrating Google Shopping, Google Adsense, Facebook shop, eBay, DPD and Mailchimp API’s
• Experience with CentOS and Plesk web hosting.
• Experience using a source control management system (Git preferred).
