Hello! My name is Sabrina and I am a nursing PhD student who is creating a patient education resource (likely a pdf for a paper brochure) with design elements similar to the structure and format of an airplane safety card.

The goal of the resource is to teach parents how to prevent infection (catheter-associated urinary tract infection, or CAUTI) in their child with a urinary catheter device in the hospital.

I am looking to hire a NYC-based illustrator to help with the project. Work hours, timing, and salary are negotiable.
This is a relatively small project, but due to its iterative nature, the work will be spread out over 2-4 months (Ending around mid-June at the latest).

The project will be conducted using an iterative participatory design process. You and I will create initial drafts, and I will obtain feedback and suggestions for changes from parents during design sessions. We will use the feedback to refine the designs from sessions.

Deliverables needed

  • Prototype and iterations of an educational brochure, or the graphical elements to be included in the brochure

Preferred qualifications for this project

  • Familiarity/experience with medical illustration or instructional design (e.g. airplane safety card*)
  • A short description of your experience along with a resume and your portfolio would be much appreciated!
