2D Map Designer

We’re Snack, a video dating app. Think TikTok meets dating.

We are looking for a Map Artist that is interested and experienced in game design and fantasy cartography. You will be responsible for 2D and 3D map design and transforming our maps into beautiful, atmospheric locations that are ingrained within our iOS app. This is a remote position working with our Vancouver and Toronto based teams. This is a full-time or part-time position on an as-needed basis for this specific limited scope of work.

Job Responsibilities

-Map Design in 2D
–Map built on Unity
—Interest or experience in fantasy cartography would be an asset
-3D design for structures and assets within the 2D environment
-Proficiency creating 3D assets using Blender, ZBrush, Spline, etc.
-Take feedback from team and implement them into designs
-Deliver on artistic/creative goals whilst adhering to production and technical requirements

About the Candidate

-Expert in visual/graphic design and experience in map design
-Familiarity or experience with game design
–Unity would be a huge asset
-Experience working with a map editor on shipped projects or completed portfolio of personal projects
-Organized, responsible and able to work autonomously
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in the metaverse is a plus

Work Details

-Contract basis full-time
-Quick turnaround time required
-Must have availability for PT meetings with team
