Shawn May Photography has grown from a small business in PA to a full-service real estate photography company that spans the East Coast, offering professional real estate photos edited by specialists—plus video walkthroughs, drone photos & video, Matterport tours, twilight photos, virtual twilights, virtual staging & photo edits.

To start with, you’ll work for our biggest client who makes up about half of our business. A typical shoot will be photos & Matterport (ideally you’ll already have a device that can create Matterport tours) at a pay rate of $175. Average time required is 90 minutes + travel time for one shoot. This of course varies with the size of the house, and with your own level of proficiency.

Our team values communication, collaboration and giving outstanding customer service in addition to giving a great product. We have a team Skype chat where we announce any issues we run into, feedback from clients, praises, and just general discussion about anything of concern to the team. As such, you must have Skype installed and notifications active to work with us. You’ll be sent a link upon hire to join our team chat. This is also where we’ll provide any login credentials if they change, AND, most importantly, this is where you’ll be able to communicate with our admin team. Some of our admin team is in the US, and some is not, so we’ve found it’s the best way to keep communication that spans timezones, and if there are ever any issues with your shoot, like a missed upload for instance, this is where we’ll contact you. Our primary admin will be your main point of contact during business hours throughout the week. The owner, Shawn, will be your point of contact after hours and on the weekends.

Technical Requirements:

• Full-sensor camera
• 17 mm lens or less

Preferred Qualifications:

• Own a Matterport camera or one that can create Matterport tours. If you don’t own one we will still consider otherwise qualified applicants.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Own a drone.
• Own a gimble.

Job Duties

• Be courteous and accommodating to every client.
• Shoot according to real estate best practices. We are willing to train otherwise qualified candidates.
• Begin uploads by 10 pm at the latest, the same day as your shoot. Verify that your uploads have completed before going to bed. If we ever do have a problem, skipping these two steps is almost always the reason.
• Upload to the specified folder in our DropBox according to our file naming conventions.
• Maintain a pristine calendar that reflects all of your appointments, personal, leisure, business or otherwise. Our clients expect that if your calendar is open, you’re available.

Pay is bi-weekly via ACH. The amount of work given varies widely by market area and by time of year. We look forward to meeting those of you that think you’re up to the challenge.

Schedule

Your schedule is in your control. You’ll use a combination of your calendar of choice, and our booking platform. You can set your base schedule (essentially your “business hours”) in our booking platform, and then you can manually block out any appointments in your calendar. Be aware that all-day events do not sync well from outside calendars, so large blocks of time should be blocked off in our platform.

Travel

When travel surpasses 40 miles one-way, you’ll be compensated on an incremental scale starting at $20 and going up by ten for every ten additional miles.
