Major Duties
Under general supervision of the director(s) of IntersectLA, the Web Designer/Producer is responsible for the overall creation and management of a website. The incumbent works with a team of web developers, content writers, and communication designers to create user-friendly and visually appealing websites.
• Designs, creates websites, and manages web related on-campus client projects that meet the needs of the Division of Academic Affairs.
• Mentors and leads students in the full project-cycle of website design and content development.
• Responsible for fully understanding clients’ processes, provides suggestions on improvement, and assists in defining user requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
• Certification training and applied experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis up to two years.
• Three years of full-time, progressively responsible field-related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Thorough knowledge of: programming and testing methods and techniques for software applications for website and user experience design; knowledge of specific industry standard applications programming language and systems analysis techniques; and generally accepted documentation methods. Thorough knowledge of PC/MAC based web browsers and related tools.
• Ability and specialized skills to: analyze problems; propose effective solutions; understand functional and procedural requirements; analyze problems and propose effective solution; understand functional and procedural requirements and develop alternative solutions; relate solutions to management, technical staff, and users; communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; make presentations; conduct meetings; provide user training; and prepare programming and user documentation. Desire to design and develop websites along with mentoring/leading teams of students to execute web projects and strong desire to learn and adapt to client needs within a team-based environment.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
• The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
• Classification / grade: 0400 / Analyst/Programmer I / 2
• The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4678 - $6240 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4678 - $11,547 per month.
• HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
• TEMP: This is a Temporary-renewable position, end date to be determined.
• The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
