- 99% Remote - with up to 2 in-person meetings a month
- 1099 Contractor starting with 3 months and review for a continued contract after 90 days
- Starting out with 10 to 15 hours a week, will vary depending on workload
- $35/hour
Job Description
We see graphic design as the conduit that engages, informs, and inspires our client’s storytelling. We’re looking for a talented graphic designer who has experience with digital and social marketing, and who can articulate concepts and ideas with visual solutions in both print and electronic media. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and is skilled in every step of the design process from concept to final deliverable. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, and be able to find the right visual tone for every project.
Objectives of this role
- Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to develop innovative graphic articulations that meet business goals
- Obtain input from managers and team members to ensure that executions meet organizational expectations and brand standards, communicate ideas accurately, and represent the agency or client appropriately
- Work independently as well as cooperatively to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and schedule project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects
- Update and maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video
- Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities
Responsibilities
- Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients to develop a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials
- Translate strategic direction into high-quality designs within an established brand identity
- Manage the design and delivery process for all project materials, based on best practices for using a content management system
- Use trend intelligence and knowledge of historical and current markets when designing and executing specific classifications
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or a related discipline
- Five or more years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, and a plus in Canva
- Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software
- Desire to continue building their skill set with education and training
- A plus- to have a broad-based experience in the education and public sector/government (Please provide this experience if you have this upfront in your cover letter)
