Contract: Part Time (Seasonal)

The Loons organist will work collaboratively with the Loons marketing & promotions staff to enhance the overall gameday show experience by effectively incorporating the Loons organ into the overall game day production. This includes key theme nights and the ability to play genres both traditional and non-traditional to the organ.

The Loons Organist is one of the most visible and recognizable positions of the Great Lakes Loons staff. This position will promote and strengthen the Great Lakes Loons brand values of fun, family entertainment, service excellence, and quality in all actions.

Essential Functions:

• Act as an ambassador for the Great Lakes Loons through quality engagement with our guests.
• Must attend pre-game production meeting 2.5 hours prior to game time
• Prepare a music and chant selection matching the theme of each game’s theme that aligns with the overall promotional schedule
• Enhance the in-game experience through target fan prompts to engage the audience during key moments of games
• Maintain and evolve the organ music library to meet theme night needs while infusing contemporary pop music/culture trends that match fan demographics
• Perform musical selections during pre-game hour, between designated innings, between pitches, and periods of time without play on the field.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities:

• Experience playing a keyboard in a band or other professional setting
• Experience on an organ preferred
• Experience working collaboratively in a band setting preferred
• Strong stage presence and showmanship qualities
• Baseball situational knowledge
• Ability to take direction and improvise in a live entertainment environment
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong front facing skills and ability to engage with guest to enhance their overall experience
• Ability to comprehend and respond to complex written and verbal instructions.
• Must develop a comprehensive knowledge of ballpark operations, history, and promotions.
• Able to recognize potential technical issues to ensure seamless game day show flow.

Physical Requirements:

• Full physical and mental dexterity with the ability to walk, kneel, crouch, hear, see and speak clearly
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds often.
• Must be able to run, dance, jump and climb, and physically assist fans of all ages and sizes.

Qualifications:

• All applicants are required to pass a criminal background check
• All applicants must be 16 or older.
• Background in music or other performing arts preferred.
