Contract: Contractor

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Senior Print & Packaging Designer and Creative Lead
  • Prepare final, press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing and binding methods, and substrates
  • Experience in building multi-language regional documentation with supplied global translations in InDesign (includes French, Spanish, German, Italian, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Swedish, Turkish, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese)
  • Experience building press-ready files with Pantone spot and process colors, clean master pages and paragraph & character style sheets
  • Experience with keeping track of and applying details such as UPCs, product codes, part numbers, model numbers, electrical ranges, regional certifications
  • Package and prepare files for release to printers or contract manufacturers
  • Create PDFs and packaging mechanicals for online DAM
  • Maintain production files, including fonts, images, logos and other artwork on DropBox
  • Follow Asana timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time
  • Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative team and the printer
  • Stay up to date with current graphic design trends, techniques, and software

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or a proven track record of packaging print production in a professional setting.
  • Expertise within Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Illustrator and InDesign), Google docs and Microsoft Office, and solid knowledge of printing processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Should be a process-oriented self-starter.
  • Comfortable with this being a freelancing position.
