The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Learning Designer (Temporary).

The Office of Digital Learning, a unit of ND Learning, is seeking a talented and innovative learning designer to join our team on a limited-term basis. In this role, you’ll work with other learning designers, academic media specialists, and Notre Dame’s world-class faculty to design and develop effective learning experiences that meet the needs of our organization.
As a Temporary (Part-time) Learning Designer, you will sit within the Learning Design team in the Office of Digital Learning and will report to the Director of Learning Design. You will work 25 hours per week on a wide variety of projects, including designing courses, developing instructional content and other supporting materials, and building courses on the University supported LMS.
This position requires that you are available during typical daytime working hours.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify learning needs and develop learning objectives and course outlines
- Partner with the project team to translate the course design into a digital course shell within the LMS
- Design and develop engaging and effective digital learning content, including learning modules, instructional materials, and learning activities
- Assist the media team in creating media content that aligns with the established learning goals
- Develop assessments and evaluation tools (e.g., tests, quizzes, etc.) to measure the effectiveness of learning outcomes
- Support the implementation of office and university initiatives
- Assist in piloting design ideas and technological solutions
- Work with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time
- Maintain an organized set of project documents and files

Minimum Qualifications:
**Your Qualifications:**To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A Bachelors degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field
- Demonstrated successful record in course design and development
- Proficiency in learning management systems, Canvas highly preferred
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications: Bonus Points if you have:
- Experience working with or as a project manager in online course development;
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.);
- Experience with Canvas Catalog and/or Coursera;
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and/or LTIs; and
- Experience with video editing software (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, etc.).
