Software Developer
Pertemps are pleased to present the role of Software Developer/Analyst who will be supporting and providing analytics for our client’s team based in Central Telford. You will be a key member of the team whom will be responsible for the running of applications and the maintenance and development of the system software.
Salary
£33,000-£46,000 per annum. Experience dependant
Hours
- 40 hours p/w
- 09:00-17:00
- Temp-perm | 6-month temporary contract, transferring to permanent upon completion of successful probationary period.

- Ensure that business systems meet business needs and that users continue to gain optimum benefit from them.
- Successfully implement new and revised functionality.
- Play an active role in systems design, scoping and specification.
- Actively participate in the production of software, including integration with other system components, and the installation and support of 3rd party specialist applications.
- Make a key contribution in ensuring the on-going integrity, availability, and performance of assigned systems.
- Assist in evolving standards, ensure your own adherence to published standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Not limited to:
Business & Systems Analysis, Configuration and Programming
- Actively participate in in-house development activity, ensuring adequacy of specification, test and implementation plans and other documentation and the adherence to site development standards and practices.
- Successfully configure and integrate with defined 3rd party application components and other in-house produced components.
Task Co-ordination
- Work closely with the Business Systems Manager, Senior Business Systems Specialists, business area lead staff, and suppliers to ensure the smooth and successful implementation and evolution of complex business systems.
- Participate in meetings and discussions. Ensure that issues and problems that arise within projects are clearly identified and progressed through to resolution. Maintain effective lines of communication, both written and oral, with all project participants. Ensure that all prospective users are adequately trained.
Application Support
- Advise and assist users in obtaining the best results from available systems and the extraction of comprehensive, quality management information.
- Maintain regular contact with business area leads and user staff and, in conjunction with senior business systems staff and/or systems suppliers, oversee and enact any related configuration, programming or procedural changes.
- Evaluate, test, schedule and apply as directed system and application software patches and release updates, in a manner that minimises disruption to services.
- Liaise with software suppliers on behalf of users in relaying and progressing requests for support and advice. Participate in Technical and User Group forums both within the Group and those organised by software suppliers or wider user groups – representing the Groups interests on such occasions.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in a mainstream Windows Development Environment, preferably Visual Studio and ideally Visual Studio 2019/VB.NET 4.72 or later
- Experience in the use of query/report writing tools.
- Will have knowledge of the practicalities of Operating Systems and Database configuration and management, preferably SQL Server.
