Job Description:

Are you looking for a Post Production role in a large media business? If so, Play Sports Network’s Video Post Production Assistant role could be perfect for you. The role is offered on a 3 day week (22.5 hours) basis.

Purpose of the Role:

Alongside the Post Production Supervisor, the purpose of this role is to assist in the successful delivery of factual video programming for distribution over an in-house content delivery network. You’ll also provide wider support for the in-house post production function.

The post production department delivers services to an internal team of Editors, Assistant Editors, Producers as well as working with external providers (eg. Quality Control and Translation houses). With support from our local IT and wider digital team, you will develop operational efficiency improvements for the documentary post production and distribution pipeline.

Opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop technical operational skills in a business with a large post production footprint with support from our parent company Warner Brothers Discovery. You can work with an enthusiastic team on a wide range of video production and distribution technologies and learn from an experienced manager.

Full training will be provided in on our in house systems but some previous experience with creative video software or media asset management systems would be advantageous.

The Role:

• Delivery of assigned tasks within the production cycle of documentary video projects.
• Media management of video assets and associated foreign translation files within various platforms.
• Relinking of video projects and liaising with Editors to locate any missing assets.
• Export assets for colour grade, audio check and quality control.
• Liase with the IT team to remove any roadblocks related to the successful delivery of projects.
• Facilitate grade/audio fixes as required and ensuring content is mastered to technical specifications.
• Render final video assets for delivery to Content Management System (CMS)
• Transfer of video-on-demand assets via Google Drive and Media Shuttle.
• Update and organising assets on platforms like Frame.IO, Media Shuttle and Google Drive.
• Lay up subtitle files from providers, editing where necessary and making timing adjustments.
• Upload content to video platforms via in house distribution systems.
• Monitor a service desk and responding to requests in a 1st line role, escalating where necessary.
• Provide technical systems management support to end users via remote support solutions.
• Pipeline management, liaising with teams at Warner Brothers Discovery for services support.
• Administrative tasks such as updating spreadsheets, trackers and relevant post production paperwork.
• Work with production and technical managers to ensure assets are ready of delivery on schedule.
• Contribute to the design of new technical workflows for post production.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• A keen eye for detail, great communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Able to communicate concepts and workflows with team and to colleagues.
• Familiarity with film, video and post production and/or computer graphics techniques desirable.
• Some knowledge of technical specifications for video, formats, codecs and encoding profiles.
• Ability to work within a team with a respect for deadlines in a multi-project environment.
• Strong organisational/ICT skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

• Experience with creative video software eg. Adobe Premiere.
• Experience working with a Media Asset Management (MAM) or Content Management System (CMS) and/or shared storage environments eg. EditShare
