The Role
In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the media and communications on the SBDRP. You will consult with, and be supported by, the Healthy Ageing Challenge Research Director, SBDRP Programme Manager, and Research Programme Administrator. You will also liaise with, and be supported by, other members of the Healthy Ageing Challenge.

Description of Duties
- Will be central to the delivery of the SBDRP Communications Strategy. Support and guidance will be provided by the SBDRP team and wider HAC members
- In line with brand guidelines and templates, produce a variety of highly engaging digital content, across channels including website, social media, video, email communications, intranet, partner websites etc, ensuring it is maximised for SEO
- Maintain web presence and lead on web design and development work, within recognised standards and deadlines. (Training on the web platform can be provided.)
- Liaise with SBDRP projects to source relevant content
- Conduct user research needs analysis and monitor analytics on engagement activities to inform content development
- Liaise with UKRI colleagues as part of the wider Healthy Ageing Challenge, as required
- UK travel (restrictions permitting) required to attend SBDR Programme meetings and events
- Regular monitoring and amplifying social media (e.g. Twitter/LinkedIn accounts)
- Disseminate/amplify outputs from SBDRP Projects and HAC
- Prepare, with support of SBDRP team, the content for blogs, newsletters, etc
- Disseminate projects content into News and Media points for website
- Any other duties required commensurate with the grade
Essential Criteria
Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant academic discipline (or demonstrable experience in related discipline)
Knowledge & Experience
- Demonstrable experience of managing communications, using different media, including social media, web presence and printed materials
- Experience in a web editor, content editor or content designer role (training for our web platform can be provided)
- Extensive experience in planning, creating and iterating user centred content
- Confident in translating complex information into user-friendly content
- Practical experience of writing Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) copy, applying SEO best practice and utilising keyword research tools
- Experience of working with project partners from a range of sectors, including business, government and the voluntary sector
- Experience and understanding of the demands of academic research and impact generation
- Active interest in and understanding of population ageing

- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively contribute as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office packages
- Strong collaboration skills in creating productive, respectful and inclusive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and organisations
- Highly effective communication skills
- Excellent standard of written communication for different audiences
- Ability to interact with a wide range of external stakeholders, including communities and project partners across sectors
- Attention to detail, as well as the ability to maintain focus on strategic priorities
