The Team

Research & Knowledge Services are the Firm’s experts in bespoke research into legal and business issues, as well as knowledge management solutions. The team were recognised as the ‘Best Knowledge Management Team’ in The Lawyer Business Leadership Awards 2015 and the ‘Best Legal Information Service in the Commercial Sector’ in the annual Halsbury’s Awards 2012.

The Role

The Research & Knowledge SharePoint Developer works with the Research & Knowledge Services Systems Analyst in the delivery of building and maintaining the Firm’s intranet and knowledge systems.

Duties

  • SharePoint Developer
  • Supports the execution of the Firm’s wider KM Strategy & Action Plan:
  • Implements effective governance of the Firm’s Intranet platform and knowledge systems;
  • Develops SharePoint as a knowledge management and sharing resource;
  • Configures SharePoint systems to specified requirements;
  • Identifies and delivers improvements to the user experience of the Firm’s knowledge systems;
  • Provides systems training to Analyst and others;
  • Trouble-shooting of systems in conjunction with IT.

Able to tailor communications style to the needs of the audience

Team Work

  • Manage own workload;
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet deadline;
  • Demonstrates accountability to internal stakeholders;
  • Works with IT or external partners to obtain technical support as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required (Bespoke to Role)

  • Relevant experience of developing a corporate intranet, or similar online knowledge-sharing / collaboration tools;
  • Good technical knowledge of SharePoint and Teams developed through direct experience and formal training;
  • Experience of migrating data into SharePoint from older versions or similar collaboration tools is desirable;
  • Knowledge of SharePoint workflows and forms development using tools like Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) and Power Apps;
  • Knowledge of SharePoint governance best practices including security concepts and permissions management;
  • Ability to solve technical problems and develop solutions;
  • Good working knowledge of other relevant IT applications including Word, Excel, Outlook & Power BI;
  • Good communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
