The Lumistella Company is seeking a skilled and creative Temporary Packaging Designer with the expertise to convert our existing packaging to a fresh new brand design. In this short-term role, he/she will play a crucial part in reworking our product packages to align with the new brand identity while maintaining consistency and visual appeal.
The Temporary Packaging Designer will be responsible for producing print-ready files with precision, ensuring high-quality output that meets our brand’s vision and industry standards. In addition, expertise will extend to assisting with physical mock-up packages, translating the digital design into tangible prototypes for review and showcase.
The ideal Temporary Packaging Designer will bring:
- Proven experience in graphic design and packaging design. A portfolio showcasing successful brand conversion projects is a plus.
- Expert level in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Demonstrated expertise in producing print-ready files, including understanding color management and technical printing specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in brand elements across different packaging materials.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, meeting tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of current design trends, consumer preferences, and packaging best practices.
- Flexible and adaptable to accommodate changes in project requirements.
- Demonstrates active listening skills and ability to follow directions (hear, process and understand); and
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; Able to communicate effectively on a global scale.
Essential Job Functions and Duties of the Temporary Packaging Designer:
- Adapt existing product packaging to reflect the new brand identity, ensuring a seamless transition from the old to the new design.
- Collaborate closely with Creative team members to understand the new brand guidelines and creative direction.
- Utilize graphic design skills to translate existing design over to the new guidelines and design elements of the new brand look.
- Produce print-ready files with precision, utilizing your in-depth print production knowledge to ensure high-quality output.
- Ensure that the new packaging design complies with industry standards and regulations while meeting aesthetic expectations.
- Manage multiple packaging redesign tasks efficiently, meeting project deadlines effectively.
- Protects company assets through the proper management of asset files and adherence to company policy regarding information security and management.
Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Design or Graphic Design with emphasis on Packaging (proof of experience/portfolio in Packaging required).
Working Conditions:
- In office work is mandatory
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
- Requires sitting for extended periods of time, standing, visual acumen, and manual dexterity for working with computer keyboards.
- Requires the ability to use paper/board cutting tools (X-Acto knife) to assemble mockups.
