Contract: Part Time

Position Responsibilities:

  • Utilize social media and station websites to build and reinforce brand recognition and engage with viewers.
  • Research and analyze background information related to hyper local news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information.
  • Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. (Storyboarding, filming, editing, graphic design and photo editing.)
  • Films and edits content for on-air and digital platforms.
  • Reviews copy and will correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
  • Pitches on-brand local and trending stories during morning meetings.
  • Oversee interns and volunteers who we will bring on to the team to support productions and other GCTV initiatives.
  • Works with local community members to share their stories.
  • Maintaining accurate records of facility use.
  • Organize all digital storage of all raw, edited and final copy assets.
  • Uploading edited content.

Requirements & Skills:

  • We do not censor content. Applicants must be willing to work with content that may be contrary to their beliefs and values.
  • There will be some travel to stories and production sites within the Town of Guilford and immediate shoreline.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency with computers as well as accompanying Microsoft 365 software (Specifically Excel)
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and multitask.
  • Projects may take place in the field or in our Hi-Definition studio. Familiarity with both forms of production is a necessity.
  • Expert knowledge in Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator is required. Knowledge of After Effects is a plus.

The position is for one year from date of employment with the possibility of more work as funding becomes available.
