In a nutshell

As part of the Virgin Atlantic (VA) creative studio, the Creative Lead Designer will take a highly visible and proactive role in elevating the standards across our creative development. Providing strategic design input, this role is pivotal to the success of the team and to the ongoing optimisation of brand output.

• Working and collaborating with internal clients across the business to deliver consumer-facing creative assets to the highest brand standards. Designing, from scratch, creative platforms for products and services and playing a part in the quality assurance of standards across the team.

Day to day

• Play a lead role in the development of innovative and complex creative assets, inspiring and mentoring others to continually build standards
• Be responsible for the evolution of brand standards, brand guidelines and assets, including elements such as new brand toolkit items, photography and art direction and short format film
• Working with the team manager, lead the management of creative agency output to assure standards and the consistent and excellent application of brand guidelines
• Deputise when required, including chairing team meetings, attending key meetings, making budget decisions and coordinating team workflow
• Take briefs and establish contact with the business on creative requirements. Dissect and understand these in order to develop the correct design response
• Produce high-standard creative assets for a range of products

About you

We’re seeking someone to come and join us with proven experience in a Creative Lead role, coming from an Agency background or client-side.

• Qualified in graphic design, or the equivalent in work experience
• Proficient in all aspects of graphic design, digital and print
• Competent in taking creative briefs and leading the design team conceptualising and producing the assets
• Leading projects, and delivering with autonomy
• Full working knowledge of key software including Adobe creative cloud, InDesign and or Illustrator and photo-editing software such as PhotoShop
