CalMatters: Audio Producer (3 months)

Location: Sacramento, CA

Contract: Temporary

Responsibilities include:

• Work with CalMatters’ Audio Editor to decide which stories are most conducive to shorter audio formats
• Produce three to six newscast items daily for radio partners based on CalMatters’ reporting, including host readers and scripts with actualities
• Turn interviews with CalMatters reporters into daily newscast items
• Deliver radio-ready audio content that meets public radio standards
• Collaborate with CalMatters’ engagement team to convert radio scripts into content for social media

Required:

• At least two years of experience producing daily news items at a public radio station (part-time or full-time)
• Fluency in audio editing software

These would be a plus:

• Reporting experience or other relevant background in California policy or politics
• Spanish fluency to help expand audio outreach with Spanish partners

Compensation

Compensation for the position is $29/hour.
