Job Summary
The Multimedia Coordinator/Videographer is a temporary, part-time appointment reporting to the Public Relations and Media Director. The Multimedia Coordinator (Temporary) is responsible for producing video and digital content to support the marketing and communications needs of the College. The Multimedia Coordinator helps to plans, organize, captures and edit content designed to inform and inspire college stakeholders and support the strategic priorities of Southwest Tennessee Community College. The Multimedia Coordinator/Videographer will play a collaborative role in strategic marketing/communications efforts to tell a cohesive and compelling Southwest story in alignment with the mission and vision of the College.
Job Duties
- Coordinates and performs single or multi-camera video capture of projects directly related to marketing and communications-related work; operates and maintains mobile and on-site audio/video equipment
- Edits content using post-production techniques and specialized hardware and software, digitizes, catalogs, and stores media content
- Prepares content, including animated video, for dissemination across a variety of digital formats for client use, including website and social media
- Proofreading and editing
- Develops scripts and storyboards for productions with storytelling techniques and creative concepts
- Creates video content aligned with Southwest priorities
- Stays current with best practices, trends and emerging technologies
- Proactively consider campus events and opportunities that assist in communicating the Southwest story, ensuring innovative and compelling storytelling for the College
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or any field and two (2) years of video production experience
- Experience with Adobe Premier, Final Cut, or other industry standard editing software or After Effects programs experience
- Editing, video production, keying, audio production, music editing or sound effects experience
- Must have a valid State driver’s license and meet minimum driving standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or any field and two (2) years of video production experience
- Experience in creating well-structured video files
- Experience in self-managing projects from initial conception to completion
- Experience working on multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Creative thinking with an excellent eye for detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clients and members of the production team
- Knowledge of post-production techniques
- Understanding of computer software used for planning, editing and scripting
Special Working Conditions
- May be required to work at multiple sites or locations
- Physical ability to move and hold recording equipment for long periods
- May be required to work evenings and weekends
- May be required to lift or carry up to 25lbs
- May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor
