SOCIAL MEDIA Executive (RWC 2025 LOC)
FIXED-TERM CONTRACT UNTIL AUTUMN 2025
BASED IN TWICKENHAM
As Social Media Executive for Rugby World Cup 2025, you will report into the Managing Director of the LOC but will work closely with the Head of Social and Programming within the EventsCo Content and Marketing team. You will help shape and deliver best in class social media output for Rugby World Cup 2025 social channels, getting hands on with all platforms to achieve audience engagement objectives for the tournament. You will know your platforms inside out, understand how to build communities within the social space and create a unique and engaging offering that will stand RWC 2025 apart from other big events.
In this role, you will work closely with other members of the Content and Marketing team such as production and brand to ensure all our content is created and delivered to expected standards. While you will manage the distribution and day to day running of the channels, we are also after a candidate who has a strong content production knowledge around podcasts, creator-led series and Live shows? You will determine what will best engage our audiences, and work with production to scope out delivery. Your role will be integral to the success of RWC 2025, acting as the key touch point to audiences and helping grow the womenâs game on a global scale.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with our social media agency, ensuring output is world class, giving appropriate coverage to RWC 2025
- Build comprehensive programming schedule for RWC 2025, working closely with production team to ensure best-in-class output
- Develop and be sole owner of a comprehensive social plan encompassing all day-to-day activity for RWC 2025, ensuring alignment across the business
- Devise operated to owned strategy, leveraging social platforms to drive audience to World Rugbyâs owned properties such as web, app and OTT
- Develop ways of working with our Performance Marketing manager to best optimize social content across platforms
- Facilitate weekly and monthly calls with our social media agency to ensure coverage alignment on RWC 2025
- Showcase our content to internal stakeholders, ensuring visibility of output to other departments within the business
- Support partner campaigns, working closely with commercial producer to content plan and amplify to reach campaign objectives
- Devise social launch strategies for RWC 2025 products, focused on D2C, to help maximize revenue potential across audiences
- Collaborate with brand team to launch internal and tournament-specific campaigns across social platforms
- Utilize insights to ensure output is data-informed, continually looking to improve performance across platforms
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- 5+ years of marketing experience
- Demonstrated expertise working in social media teams, managing output for globally facing brands or sporting events
- Proven track record delivering business results via social media strategy execution
- Intimate knowledge of the ever-evolving entertainment and marketing landscape, current competition, innovations, and trends and how they impact our business
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to time manage multiple stakeholders effectively
- Creative mindset, ensuring ideas are well developed and executed to a high industry standard

Flexible Working
The role offers hybrid and flexible working, taking into account the event needs during planning and operations phases. Initially, this will be 3-days a week out of our Twickenham office.
