Contract: Full Time, 12 Months Fixed Term

Role Summary:

The Packaging and Graphic Designer is a creative professional responsible for conceptualising, designing, and executing visual assets for packaging materials, flat lays and related marketing material. This role involves combining artistic flair with technical skills to create visually appealing and functional packaging designs that align with the brand’s identity and marketing objectives. The Packaging and Graphic Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the packaging designs effectively communicate the product’s value, message and enhances the overall consumer experience.

Main Role Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the NPD team to deliver designs from creative concept to final product. This includes, but is not limited to packaging, care labels, accessories, and POS display.
  • Develop innovative and engaging packaging concepts for products, considering aesthetic appeal, brand guidelines, and practicality.
  • Incorporate essential information such as product details, logos, barcodes, and regulatory information into packaging designs.
  • Working alongside the marketing team, providing design support when required.
  • Select appropriate materials, colours, and finishes that align with the brand’s identity and resonate with the target audience.
  • Ability to create mock ups and/or visuals of the final product.
  • Presenting concepts, visuals and ideas to the Director, Managing Director and Buying Manager, and clearly communicating the progress of development.
  • Ensure that all design elements, typography, and imagery adhere to brand guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Providing technical specifications and liaising with factories to ensure products are to a high quality.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Considering costs, upcoming trends, competitor analysis and functionality when approaching a new project.
  • Quality checking all samples and production against artwork and specifications provided to the suppliers.
  • Keep organised records of design files, revisions, and project-related communication.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a mid-weight packaging design role, preferably within the beauty or fashion industry.
  • Proven ability to deliver designs from creative concept to final product.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite such as Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in English with impeccable spelling and grammar
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work pro-actively within a team. With a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to take initiative.
  • Be hard-working and dynamic, with creative flair and an excellent eye for detail.
  • Punctual with a great work ethic
  • Experience with cosmetic or electrical regulations and compliance is desired.
  • Experience designing website banners, emails and social content is desired.

Salary:

£28,000.00 - £33,000.00 pa DOE
