Job Details:

  • Purpose

  • To improve and fix the web UI of an integrated suite of CMS websites and portals for real-world scientific applications at TACC in collaboration with TACC staff.

  • Responsibilities

  • Solve complex CSS and HTML and accessibility challenges in modern browsers.

  • Disseminate best practices for web UI and accessibility.

  • Work with designers to develop accessible, cohesive, reusable UI patterns.

  • Work with software architects to complete new infrastructure.

  • Participate in peer code reviews with teammates on our open-source software.

Required Qualifications:

Three years of practical experience in web UI engineering. Passion for, and proficiency with, HTML and CSS. Comfortable working with Git, JavaScript, NPM, React. Comfortable collaborating with designers and engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five years of practical experience in web UI engineering. Familiarity using PostCSS, ITCSS, BEM, OOCSS. Familiarity with Python, Django, Django CMS. Experience achieving web accessibility standards. Experience sharing code across multiple websites. Eager to tutor peers in web UI engineering.

Hourly Rate:

$24 per hour + depending on qualifications.

Work Shift:

  • M-F, 8 am - 5 pm
