Who are you, and what do you do?
We are a corporate team engaged in healthcare with a reputation for being a bit on the serious and “stuffy” side. We are looking to lighten things up a bit and surprise our local Houston teams with a fun and self-deprecating activity during a team-building event in Houston.

What’s the project, and what do you need from a freelancer?
Project: A dodgeball game team-building event between our corporate team and our local Houston office team.

Needs: We require a freelancer who can act, specifically someone who can convincingly portray an overly serious, over-the-top, Will Ferrell-esque dodgeball coach. The actor will be bossing us around, blowing a whistle, and playing it very straight and serious, all for comedic effect. The team will not be aware that you are an actor and not a real dodgeball coach. Your role is to be self-deprecating while its staying “on-brand” for our corporate perception from local team that were so serious we hired a coach for a fun teambulding event!

When do you need your project delivered?
We are looking to hold our team-building event on Nov 14 afternoon in Tomball, so we will need the actor to be available on that day. Please arrive a bit early to discuss the flow of events and any last-minute details.

Can you provide examples of your preferred style?
We envision a style akin to Will Ferrell in his various sports-related comedies (such as “Semi-Pro” or “Blades of Glory”) where he is absurdly serious and passionate about the sport in a way that is comically incongruent with the stakes involved. We’re looking for a balance of authority and silliness: someone who can bark orders, blow a whistle with fervor, and give pep talks with utmost sincerity, all while being inherently funny due to the overly intense demeanor and the context of a friendly corporate event.de examples of your preferred style?
