The Bitesize Careers website is aimed at children and young people aged 11 to 16+. Whether deciding what to study, planning a future career or just curious about the world of work, Bitesize Careers is here to help with advice from experts and from young people whoâve found a path that suits them. We create positive and aspirational digital content that can be used by students and young people whether they are learning at school or at home. Our content often reaches young audiences via their teachers, schools, careers advisors or parents and carers, and as such aims to reflects key moments in the careers education calendar, including around option choices, work experience, National Apprenticeship Week and National Careers Week. Bitesize Careers content is created both inhouse by a small production team and through external⌠commissions and collaborations. We produce a range of content including interactive quizzes, text-based advice or topical articles, short-form films, social media content, panel discussions, to help empower young people to make informed decisions about their future and discover opportunities and pathways that play to their strengths. Provide every child in the UK with a personalised learning experience through BBC Bitesize. ⢠To support the development, management, and creation content on a variety of platforms. ⢠To ensure all content is of a first-class standard: thoroughly researched and accurate, in keeping with audience needs and expectations. ⢠To ensure that output complies with BBC editorial, technical, design and accessibility standards, and that BBC Health and Safety policy is observed. ⢠Nurture and develop junior members of the team. ⢠Creative self-starter with initiative and tenacity and ability to see how their work fits in with the wider needs of department. ⢠To use a variety of specialist production skills in a multi-skilled environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of creating digital content that is exciting, engaging and informative, across a range of styles and formats and using content management systems to create, curate and publish content. You will have a good understanding of how digital platforms differ in terms of their styles and trends and will be able to spot stories and moments that will appeal to our target demographic. Youâll be full of ideas and ways we can create engaging content to reach new diverse audiences. Youâll be a driven self-starter, able to manage your time productively across the two days and in remote working scenarios. A creative problem solver, able to work around challenges and obstacles. Youâll be a strong digital Assistant Producer, experienced in making, editing and publishing engaging content for digital platforms. Youâll demonstrate practical experience of creating high-quality, digital content such as video, online articles, interactives, quizzes or infographics, and using content management systems. This could be content you make in-house, or content you commission with external independent companies. Youâll have excellent editorial judgement with an understanding of the digital platforms and formats, and how to use them to appeal to our young audiences. Youâll enjoy sourcing the best contributors, experts or educational consultants and working with them during production of content. Youâll have excellent digital copywriting skills, able to write engaging and audience appropriate text for digital content that will inspire our audience about careers. Youâll be working in a small team so itâs important to be able to prioritise between multiple projects, meet regular deadlines and to take direction and feedback from producers. This part time role will involve working closely with the other part time colleague and the Bitesize Careers producer to ensure the teamâs projects are delivered on time and on budget. Experience of creating digital content for young people. ⢠Experience of using Photoshop and Premiere (or similar) to edit images and video clips. ⢠Using content management systems to create, curate and publish content. ⢠Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at the same time. ⢠Experience of working with commissioned third parties (e.g. writers, designers, illustrators and production companies) to help create original content. ⢠Able to use project management techniques and tools to deliver projects on time and within budget. ⢠Excellent digital writing skills, able to write engaging and appropriate text.
