Part-time Video Editor Job Description

Rhizome Comedy is seeking a part-time video editor to join our small team! The video editor’s primary responsibility will be managing our YouTube page, editing clips for social media channels, as well as serving as a secondary editor on larger comedy projects.

Position Parameters

• Working approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and negotiable within a standard 9am-5 Monday-Friday work week. Primarily in-person work required at our downtown Raleigh office in our editing studio.
• Compensation is $17 per hour for a trial period of 30 days and then moving to $20.
• The goal for this position is to create three 5 minute long clips per week for YouTube.
• This position will also edit longer videos that will be posted sporadically.
• This position is W-2.
• Must be Triangle, NC based with the ability to commute to our Raleigh office.
• This position will be managed by our Assistant Director.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience using DaVinci Resolve editing software. Comparable experience in Premier Pro also acceptable.
• Position require basic coloring and multiple camera editing skills.
• Must have an understanding of how the YouTube algorithm functions.
• Must have experience editing videos for Instagram and Tiktok.
• Must have an interest in stand-up comedy!
