About the Role

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Graphic Designer/Artist to join our growing creative team. In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Digital Officer, GM of Merchandising and Vendor Direct Team to produce high quality and trend right graphics for our Apparel business. You will be responsible for creating our graphics each season, seeing them from concept through to production. Projects include t-shirt & fleece graphics, apparel trim, and some branding. You will be responsible for ensuring that all graphic designs are consistent with our brand strategy and meet our specific performance, pricing, and aesthetic goals. We are looking for someone with a strong sense of design, color, and typography that understands and follows trends.

To be ultimately successful in this role you will develop a deep understanding of the Tillys customer and seek to progress the apparel category while maintaining Company DNA.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and create apparel graphics from conception through final vendor-ready art
• Have a strong understanding of screen printing, Illustrator and Photoshop file building and manipulation, and approval process for printable categories
• Strong knowledge of the marketplace, competitor product and the needs of the Tillys customer
• Maintain a strong sense of the Tillys customer design aesthetic through all design work
• Research inspiration and keep abreast of relevant trends, sales information, and the competitive landscape
• Collaborate with the design department to develop and execute seasonal deliverables
• Interpret trend boards and design direction in order to develop graphics
• Partner with designers to ensure a cohesive collection monthly
• Prepare print-ready artwork for vendors
• Assess and troubleshoot prototypes
• Develop and execute on ideation, building brand awareness and bringing our brand to life
• Maintain project libraries and organize graphics by season and concept

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Degree in Graphics Arts or related field
• 5+ years creating graphic tees
• Proven illustration skills (by hand, computer and/or iPad) and typographic skills
• Strong and relevant knowledge of trends in fashion and culture
• Color theory, separation, and technical skills
• Exceptional skills in Adobe Creative Suite
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills required
• Highly detailed with the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining clear communication
• Apparel industry experience
• Must be able to work remotely, but potentially move in-office mid-July and will follow company safety protocols

Hourly Salary Range: $32-$40: Offer placement within this range is dependent on a variety of factors, including prior relevant experience, skill set, and qualifications.
