Responsibilities:
- Website development:
- Collaborate with the editorial and design teams to develop and maintain the Health-e News website.
- Implement and maintain responsive web design and ensure cross-browser compatibility.
- Optimize website performance to deliver a seamless user experience.
- CMS management:
- Manage and maintain the content management system (CMS) to ensure smooth content updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CMS-related issues and provide technical support to content editors.
- Security and Maintenance:
- Implement security measures to protect the website from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular maintenance, updates, and backups to ensure the website’s stability and security.
- Integration and APIs:
- Integrate third-party APIs and services for features such as social media sharing, newsletters, analytics, etc.
- Develop and maintain integrations with various tools and platforms for an improved user experience.
- Mobile Optimization:
- Ensure the website is optimized for mobile devices and tablets to reach a broader audience.
- Google News Consumer Insights:
- Stay informed about Google News Consumer Insights and use this data to identify trends and user preferences.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to tailor content strategies based on consumer insights.
- Innovative Ideas:
- Proactively propose and implement innovative ideas for website features, user engagement, and interactive content to enhance user experience.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a web developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing web development projects.
- Proficiency in web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
- Experience working with content management systems (CMS), preferably WordPress.
- Knowledge of web security best practices and experience implementing security measures.
- Familiarity with integrating third-party APIs and services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
