Overview
Royal Voluntary Service hospital cafés, shops and trolleys are part of the fabric of the NHS and a real asset in their own right. Staffed by employees and volunteers, we provide an outstanding range of healthy food choices. Our customers love the fact that the money they spend with us pays for volunteer action in hospitals and the community. The NHS and Care Volunteer Responder programme was set up in 2020 to support those vulnerable to COVID-19, those shielding or isolating, and the NHS in England. The programme continues to respond to the changing needs of patients and the NHS.
The Role
As our Social Media Manager, you will manage and develop all of our social media channels, including our national accounts, local service pages and NHS and Care Volunteer Responder programme accounts. Working collaboratively with the Communications Team, youâll ensure our online activity reflects our key messaging and enables us to achieve our overall objectives. You will support the Social Media Officers and the Social Media Support Officers to maximise opportunities and adhere to best practice.
- Monitor social media trends, tools and best practices
- Lead and mentor the Social Media Team
- Oversee incoming social media content requests from various departments
- Produce action plans, communication toolkits and design briefs
- Oversee the social media budget
- Build relationships with influencers, partners, volunteers, referrers and stakeholders
- Monitor and analyse the success of paid campaigns
Working Hours
This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week for a fixed term contract until 31st December 2024.
What youâll need
To be considered as our Social Media Manager, you will need:
- Managerial experience
- Professional experience of a range of social media platforms
- Experience of developing engaging content calendars and campaigns
- The ability to analyse and interpret social media data
- Great stakeholder and community engagement skills
- A keen eye for trends and popular topics
- Problem-solving skills
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Proficiency in IT, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
