Location: Hazelwood, MO (hybrid – onsite 3 days/week)

Description:

We develop equipment, tests and software that deliver rapid, high-impact, actionable results in immunoassays, microbiology, and molecular biology. The Software Developer (Dev Ops Engineer) will be part of the team designing and developing software that delivers these results directly supporting patient health and consumer product safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Eight or more years of software development experience with at least two years of experience directly in CI-CD and devOps.
• Java development including, Spring, Spring Boot, Tomcat/Jetty with strong experience in unit and integration testing using JUnit.
• Strong experience in server-side multi-threaded programming in Java, the HTTPS protocol, and Web Services.
• Design and development of relational databases preferably using PostgreSQL and JPA/Hibernate.
• Ability to contribute to high-level design discussions based on experience in application of software design concepts, software application lifecycle management, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, and Design Patterns.
• Experience with software development methodologies, especially Agile, Scrum, etc.
• Review of other team members’ application code and test code for correctness and potential improvements
• Version control system (Git / GitLab)
• Ability to develop and document deliverables compliant with established company practices.
• Effective in a fast-paced environment utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Automated Testing like Gherkin/Cucumber or Selenium.
• Windows scripting experience with PowerShell and Command Batch scripts.
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Build and continuous integration systems (Gradle, Maven)
• Configuration management tool (Ansible, Python)
• Windows/Linux administration and scripting (PowerShell, Groovy)
• Virtualization Management tools (VMware)
• Version control system ( Perforce, Git )
• Leveraging package managers (Chocolatey and Nuget); experience building custom Chocolatey packages would be a plus.
• Backup/Restore tools (Ghost and O&O)
• MS Windows images management (ISO, VM templates, etc.)
• Automation frameworks and technologies (AWS: AWSTOE and Image Builder, other)
• Working in Cloud (vs. on-premises) to host automated application build and release infrastructure (AWS preferred)
