Role Description

This is a hybrid contract role in Brooklyn, NY, with flexibility for some remote work. We are looking for a Video Editor to join our team. The Video Editor will be responsible for editing raw footage into high-quality videos that meet the creative vision of the Uncomfortable Truths Podcast. As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for reviewing, selecting, and editing footage; ensuring seamless transitions and adding effects and graphics. You will collaborate with other members of the team to brainstorm ideas and develop concepts for videos that can engage viewers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills and be able to work independently, while also being able to work collaboratively with a team. The Video Editor will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that videos align with overall project goals. The Video Editor will have the flexibility to work from home, as well as in our Brooklyn office.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and other editing software
• Experience in color correction and grading, audio mixing and editing, and post-production processes
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a team
• Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, with attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in film studies, media studies, or a related field
• Knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
• Ability to work on tight deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Experience in documentary or storytelling video editing is a plus
• Experience with motion graphics and animation is a plus
• Experience with sound design and editing is a plus
• Experience with film production and camera equipment is a plus
• Knowledge of film, video production, or a related field
• Strong understanding of video production techniques and technology
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with team members and management
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Creative problem-solving skills to address any issues that arise during the editing process
