Job Description

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Avid Video editor. The project will run approximately 5-8 weeks and could potentially lead to regular work. You must have experience with Avid Media Composer and be willing to work on location 5-days a week in Parsippany NJ.

Responsibilities:

• Edit and assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director’s vision
• Collaborate with the creative team to determine the sequence and arrangement of shots
• Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
• Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects to enhance the production value
• Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of the final product
• Review and edit raw footage to create a cohesive story
• Experiment with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements
• Ensure all editing deadlines are met

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Video Editor or similar role
• Strong knowledge of video editing techniques and software
• Familiarity with various video formats and codecs
• Solid understanding of visual storytelling principles
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail and precision in editing
• Knowledge of typography and graphic design principles is a plus
• Familiarity with content management systems is a plus

Additional Information

• Pay: $40.00 - $47.00 per hour
• Expected hours: 37.5 – 45 per week
