Job Description
Illinois State University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Redbird Creative social media within the department of Athletics. This 12-month position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend. The successful applicant will assist with the day-to-day management of social media accounts, create and manage content, track and report analytics, collaborate with teams and coaches, monitor accounts for safety, and pitch and execute creative content ideas.
Requirements
- Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook
- Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in Psychology of Sport & Physical Activity, Recreation Administration, Sport Management, Communication, or MBA
- Must be registered for at least 3 credit hours during the summer semester
- Experience working in an Intercollegiate Athletics Department (preferred)
- Experience assisting with social media strategy for multiple platforms (preferred)
- Experience taking and editing photos (preferred)
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign) (preferred)
- Basic video editing skills for short-form content on TikTok and IG Reels (preferred)
- Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

This 12-month appointment consists of a 2-month summer appointment and a 10-month appointment from August to May. Applicants must be eligible for employment in the United States and at Illinois State University. Student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment. International students may work up to 28 hours per week when the university is not in session. Contact the Office of International Student and Scholar Services for visa restrictions on work hours.
