Job Description

Ardent is seeking a Contract Graphic Designer (1099) to join their extended team. The designer will be responsible for producing graphic assets including images, animations, infographics, and photos that enhance defined learning solutions. The position will require working closely with the project team to create promotional and informational materials that align with the client’s brand, mission, culture, and values. The designer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet project objectives and stay within budget. Other responsibilities include staying informed on the importance of visual design, design thinking, user experience, and their impact on business results. The designer will also stay on top of industry trends and new technologies, finding opportunities to incorporate fresh thinking into the work.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, New Media Design or related field or equivalent years of experience
• At least 3 years’ experience in a creative role as an individual contributor
• Advanced skills in common creative software applications, including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Premier
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as iWork and Confluence
• Proficient in the areas of interactive design, UI design, user experience, web and mobile application design, print design, branding and logo design, video production, motion graphics, marketing, and concept development
• Proficient in the fundamentals of graphic design, including but not limited to typography, layout, and imagery
• Ability to develop unique concepts and creative solutions to address a wide variety of business problems/objectives
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
• Firm awareness of project management fundamentals and the importance of time management, deadlines and proactive communication on a team

Other Information

This is a 4-month contract position (1099). The position is expected to be 40 hours per week during normal business hours PST, starting in May 2024. The rate for this role is $55/hour, depending on scope of work and level of experience. The position will require a hybrid work environment, with 3 days each week in an office location in Cupertino, CA and the other 2 days being remote. There will be occasional travel to meet with team members in another office location in Phoenix, AZ.
