Job Description

Colorado State University (CSU) Division of University Marketing and Communications (MarComm) seeks a visionary candidate for the position of Producer/Editor. This is a one-year temporary position, responsible for working collaboratively with MarComm teams to promote programs and initiatives to internal and external audiences through compelling multimedia storytelling, particularly through video. This position is responsible for multimedia project production in support of the CSU mission and objectives.

The position incorporates best practices and innovations in multimedia/video production within a collaborative storytelling process. This position will direct and produce content including interviews, voice overs and music selection. The position is also responsible for review of film and media footage, trimming segments of the footage, collaborating with the production team and making edits as required. Additionally, this position will train, schedule, supervise and evaluate a crew of up to 8 student workers.

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
• Minimum of six months of successful experience in documentary film production
• Proficient in Adobe Software (Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
• Proficient editing skills
• Demonstrated understanding of editing theory and media management (preferred)
• Ability to use technology to communicate and problem-solve (preferred)
• Ability to develop ideas through effective communication (preferred)
• Demonstrated experience leading a team of student employees (preferred)
• Experience working on a similar project in higher education (preferred)
