Job Description:

FairShare is seeking a dynamic and passionate social media manager to collaborate on building a content program and overseeing daily operations of the social handles. This freelance role offers a blend of NYC-based and remote work, aiming to establish a youthful and progressive tone that explores the positive growth of unions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation and Curation: Produce and share community-based news stories and user-generated content with a primary focus on highlighting the positive aspects of organized labor (core focus).
• Community Engagement: Foster and grow a sense of belonging within the online community. Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries with authenticity and empathy.
• Interviews: Engage with community leaders and labor organizers to present compelling first-person perspectives on workforce progress.
• Event Coverage: Attend labor rallies, conferences, and protests as part of an editorial team, capturing the vibrant spirit of next-generational workforce leadership.
• Analytics and Reporting: Provide insights on social media trends and user behavior. Provide regular reports with actionable insights to optimize future strategies.

The successful applicant will benefit from close mentorship by Eamonn Store, founder of FairShare and former US CEO of the Guardian. Interviews and external content will be professionally captured by a small production team, ensuring high-quality content delivery.

Compensation:

Freelance day rate - flexible commensurate with experience. Opportunity for the role to become permanent.
