Job Description
National manufacturing company is seeking a talented and motivated UI/UX Designer. Core responsibilities include user interaction design, based on research and analysis in order to communicate design motivations/decisions to various stakeholders. Help to create and implement designs according to UX standards while working in a professional manner within a team to achieve project goals.
Temporary role - indefinite
Hybrid schedule – 2 days onsite (Tues, Wed, or Thurs) and 3 days remote
- Work closely within the digital marketing team and stakeholders including Product Owners to ensure the development of world-class websites, portals, and mobile applications.
- Own the end-to-end user journey, from ideation, to prototyping (low - high fidelity), to user testing, and final production
- Collaborate with Project Manager, SEO Specialist, Creative Services, and Site Authoring to solve complex UX problems with elegance and simplicity.
- Design wireframes for desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms to visually depict screen flow, navigation, and interaction for optimal user experience.
- Educate stakeholders on design decisions and best practices.
- Gain user insights by conducting research, interviews and surveys to create user journey maps, affinity diagrams, quantitative data., etc.
- Explore multiple design solutions through A/B testing
- Make recommendations for site structure with SEO best practices and implications in mind
- Analyze site performance data and make recommendations for improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in User-centered design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or relevant experience.
- 5+ years of professional design experience, including user experience design for web. Mobile application experience is a strong plus.
- Professional portfolio to accompany a resume
- Solid understanding of user experience disciplines such as UX architecture, research, usability, and content strategies
- Solid understanding of new and emerging UX/UI design best practices
- Knowledge of typography, color theory, spatial relations, and proportion
- Well-versed in web optimization and design elements implementation
- Advanced knowledge of cross-browser compatibility
- Demonstrated experience with responsive design and design for the mobile platform.
- Solid working experience with appropriate design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, +XD). Sitecore (or similar CMS), and Figma experience is a strong plus.
- Understanding of test methodologies such as Standard Usability Testing, Comparative Testing, Rapid Iterative Testing, and Prototype Testing
- Experience with incorporating SEO best practices into your design
