Manager, Media Production & Operation
Post-Production is needed in Hong Kong.
Main purpose of job:
The Manager of Operations is responsible for management of various work streams within the Global Media Production Operations inclusive of, Audio, Video, Graphical, and multimedia disciplines. Necessary skill sets include general knowledge of media production, media engineering experience, customer service, project management, time/capacity management, and excellent communication skills. This person must be highly organized with a sharp focus on details. Other skills include system support, troubleshooting, and general computer networking skills.
Main responsibilities including but not limited to:
⢠Managing select local regional Media Engineering teams.
⢠Viewing Work request system and evaluating open issues to ensure all work completed as requested by clients. Includes following up with open requests ensuring they are closed in a timely fashion. Manage Audio, Video, Graphics, mobile, and multimedia work with the assistance of the Engineer Leads.
⢠Dealing with escalated operational issues from the Lead Engineers
⢠Escalate Technical issues to appropriate designated channels. Escalate Operational issues to the Operations Head and/or Director.
⢠Serve as the point of contact for international client base with questions or concerns
⢠Evaluate and plan large registration initiatives/projects such as new distribution partners and or redelivery projects.
⢠Evaluate capacity and need for consultants with managing engineers and schedule consultants accordingly.
⢠Interview and hire consultant employees and new staff as appropriate, working with the lead engineer to ensure qualified persons are hired and trained appropriately when hired.
⢠Regularly review the Performance of Lead engineers in concert with the Operations Director as well as review the performance of Engineers/Analysts and Consultants with the lead engineer.
⢠Work closely with the Operations Director and/or Head to ensure proper client and user support. Maintain a close relationship with Engineering, Asset Support and the Global Technology team with regular meetings. Key Stakeholder on all systems and operational projects. Escalate any non-operation related requests for managed personnel.
⢠Manage, monitor and build, where necessary; workflows within the workflow tracking system.
⢠Compile and gather metrics for all workflow processes monthly.
⢠Support and leadership for Media Production projects and initiatives.
⢠When workload requires, perform engineering tasks such as quality control and registration of media assets to an asset management platform.
⢠Good command of English
Requirements:
Knowledge/ Education:
Essential
Minimum 2 yearsâ experience engineering/editing/post-production and/or a degree from an accredited media engineering school with appropriate training certification.
Minimum 5 yearsâ experience managing people, multiple direct reports.
Desirable
Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in Customer service, sales, or marketing preferred.
Skills/Experience:
Troubleshooting techniques
General knowledge of digital media
General knowledge of media quality attributes
General knowledge of digital compression formats/techniques
General knowledge in the following applications:
o Digital Asset Management Applications and processes
o Media digitization systems
o FTP/SFTP (Filezilla, Fetch, etc)
o Microsoft Word
o Microsoft Excel
o Microsoft Outlook
o Microsoft Power Point
o Microsoft Project
o Microsoft Visio
o iTunes
Personality/ Character:
Efficiency and organizational skills a must to handle large priority lists and status updates
Must be extremely detail oriented and focused
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of system messaging and metadata a must
Troubleshooting experience a must
