Job Description:
As the Senior Project Engineer - Temporary Works, your main responsibility will be to ensure that the Clients obligations under various codes of practice and regulations are properly discharged. This includes controlling risk and implementing HS2 and third-party requirements for the design, installation, maintenance, and removal of temporary works. You will be responsible for identifying and controlling temporary works requirements throughout the project stages.
Your duties will include discharging the duties of Principal Designer (CDM Regulations 2015) Representative for Temporary Works, managing and communicating HS2 Temporary Works requirements to the Principal Contractors, ensuring compliance of temporary works with technical and sponsor requirements, updating the temporary works register and implementing relevant controls, conducting assurance and technical approval meetings, establishing and managing processes for design checks, representing the Head of Temporary Works and Heads of Engineering & Environment with reporting and risk identification, providing engineering guidance on temporary works design solutions, coordinating with supply chain contracts and other disciplines, approving and monitoring temporary works schemes at contract interfaces, determining the impact of temporary works progress and change on cost and schedule, providing training on temporary works, and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Requirements:
- Ability to apply engineering principles and exercise independent engineering judgment
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Analytical skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of relevant codes of practice, regulations, and standards
- Significant engineering experience in temporary works within Rail projects

Additional Information:
Base salary: £63,050pa to c.£78,800pa depending on skills and experience. In addition to the base salary, a flexible benefits fund of 20% is provided, which is fully pensionable.
